The intricate movement and components of the watch working together to tell the time on your wrist often goes unnoticed. This commercial dives into the microscopic world inside the watch to reveal all the magic and wonder. An object as tiny as a strawberry is dissected using only the components from the watch. These components fashion themselves into a surgical robots and carefully lay out the seeds and leaves from the strawberry to mimic the classic watch face of Hublot’s Big Bang.

The watch and the system of surgical robots are constantly shown side by side. Both objects are designed and made for precise maneuvering. The cinematic sequences pay homage to the sophisticated structure harnessed within these two systems.

The set design of the film - from the blue-tinted laboratory room to the imaginary world inside the watch surrounded by metallic surfaces - are all designed to invoke the sense of machine-level precision. The high contrast, monochromatic color throughout the film allows the viewer to fully admire the detail of the watch and the robots made up of its components. The comparable complexity between the two systems forms a flawless metaphor for the concept of precision.

From 3D modelling and mechanical rigging, all the way to texturing and rendering, the development reel on the left shows glimpse of careful planning and execution that went into creating the final film. A bold idea led to a storyboard and it led to creating a grid of style frames, then onto the final edit and compositing.
